Manchester United scored 81 seconds into their first-half under new head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils blasted their way into an early lead with a sensational goal. After an eyebrow-raising team selection where Amad Diallo was at wing-back, the Ivorian justified Ruben Amorim's team selection.

After a neat one-two with captain Bruno Fernandes, Amad raced away down the right flank, escaping and evading Ipswich defenders before curling a right-footed cross into the box.

That cross was met by perhaps the most heavily scrutinised Man Utd player: Marcus Rashford. The striker made a sharp near-post run and poked the ball home before Muric in the Ipswich goal could collect the cross.

However, just when Man Utd fans felt they could maybe start to get carried away the team brought them back down to earth with a bump by sitting off Ipswich and allowing their hosts back into the game.

The Tractor Men gladly obliged and began looking the more threatening side. They gleefully exposed that, owing to injuries and the international break, Ruben Amorim was still relying on the likes of Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Jonny Evans.

Ipswich pressed and pressed and, in the dying moments of the first-half, found their equaliser as a stunning strike from Omari Hutchinson flew into the roof of the net via a deflection off Noussair Mazraoui.

The second-half was a much less dramatic affair, with both Ipswich and Man Utd missing great chances to win it.

Of course, some love was shown to Amad Diallo:

Meanwhile Arsenal and Chelsea fans fought over just who Hutchinson was "made" by.

Ultimately, the half ended 1-1 and the much less eventful second-half had a few interesting moments, such as the reappearance of Luke Shaw.

Liam Delap got some praise for his rugged approach to the game.

Meanwhile Alejandro Garnacho came in for some criticism after he wasted some incredible chances to either score or set his team-mates up for tap-ins.

Ultimately, what is clear is that there is plenty of work for Ruben Amorim to do:
