Man Utd target already 'PREPARING for transfer'
Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has accepted that he does not have a future at the club and is preparing for a summer move, according to German media.
The 29-year-old has endured a difficult few seasons, marred by poor performances and a lack of minutes. Last term, Goretzka struggled to impress under Thomas Tuchel and this led to him losing his place in Julian Nagelsmann's Germany setup.
Frustrated by this turn of events, the former Schalke man stepped his game up and put in some impressive showings towards the end of the campaign, but it wasn't enough to make the Euro 2024 squad.

Already in the summer, Bayern made it clear to the midfielder that he does not have a long-term future at the club, which attracted the attention of Man Utd, as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers.
However, rather than leave, Goretzka decided to fight for his place as he is still under contract until 2026.
Goretzka accepts defeat
Several months on, Goretzka's fortunes have not improved. On the contrary, he has been on the receiving end of some rather bewildering and borderline unprofessional treatment.
One week he is out of Vincent Kompany's team, the next he is in and all of this amid a backdrop of uncertainty over his future. Goretzka has been told repeatedly that he ought to leave the club and the latest talk appears to have finally yielded the desired results.

According to Sky Germany, director Max Eberl once more told Goretzka to get out in recent days and it is claimed that he has at last accepted his fate, with 'preparations for a departure in the summer now underway.'
The same outlet previously revealed that Man Utd are still keeping tabs on his situation, though it remains to be seen whether they will make a move. His age profile doesn't really suit the new project under Ruben Amorim.
However, perhaps the Red Devils view his experience as a valuable counterweight to the inexperience of someone like Kobbie Mainoo especially considering that the likes of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro could depart in 2025.
