Man Utd keen on in-form Premier League ace
Manchester United have their sights set on Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha, according to reports.
The Midlands club were flailing this season and head coach Gary O’Neil's was under scrutiny earlier this month but the Englishman has since led his side to two Premier League wins in a row, a 2-0 victory over Southampton, and then a 4-1 win against Fulham.
Wolves have some top-quality players and TBR Football has reported that Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri are among those being eyed by top Premier League clubs.
Their report states that "Manchester United and Tottenham are monitoring Cunha" and that "Napoli are also watching the Brazil international, with the Italian giants – and Newcastle too – sending scouts to Craven Cottage to watch him score twice against Fulham on Saturday."
Cunha has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 12 Premier League outings so far. The 25-year-old, who can play across this frontline, is known for his explosive power, carrying ability, and eye for goal. This campaign has easily been his most impressive season at Wolves. The club had signed him in 2023 from Atletico Madrid for €50 million after he had a loan spell with the side.
The report also states that Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham have liked Ait-Nouri, with those clubs scouting him over the past year.
The wing-back has also drawn interest from United in previous reports, though it's not clear at this point whether he would be open to a departure from Molineux next year or how much his current club value him at.
Wolves' stance
But Wolves are adamant that none of their star players will be sold in the forthcoming January window, particularly with the club in 17th place in the Premier League table and relegation still very much a possibility.
Wolves sold Max Kilman to West Ham over the summer but they could look to replace him with Bayern Munich's Eric Dier. The former Tottenham man has fallen out of favour and snubbed for selection by Vincent Kompany in Germany.
Another player is apparently Christopher Wooh of Rennes. It's thought that funds will be made available for O'Neil, with the aim of solidifying their defence with new additions.
