The Egypt international is due to become a free agent in July and he has been heavily linked with a free transfer switch to the Saudi Pro League when his Liverpool deal ends at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Salah scored a brace to fire Arne Slot’s side to a 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday afternoon and he provided an update on his future at Liverpool after the game.

“We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in,” Salah told reporters (as per The Athletic).

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

When asked if he was disappointed that a formal offer hadn’t yet been tabled by Liverpool, Salah admitted: “Of course, yeah. I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see.”

Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool?

Liverpool are locked in contract extension talks with a number of their most important players, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also set to leave the club on Bosman deals in 2025.

All three players will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club in January, and although The Athletic report that extension talks with Salah have been “positive”, an exit remains likely.

The 32-year-old has 12 goals and 10 assists in 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season and he remains one of Liverpool’s most influential stars.
