Premier League braced for second SACKING of season
Premier League clubs have already seen one manager sacked - but now another is on the horizon.
Manchester United decided to sack Erik ten Hag earlier this month after a terrible run of results, with Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim set to take his place after this weekend's games. Ruud van Nistelrooy has taken charge of the club on an interim basis.
The Dutchman marks the first casualty of the Premier League in terms of managerial dismissals, but now Wolverhampton Wanderers could follow suit after their torrid start to the 2024/25 season.
CONFIRMED: Viktor Gyokeres’ perfect transfer move
The Telegraph have revealed that Gary O'Neil's job is on the line as the club set bottom of the Premier League table. The outlet stated on Friday: "Gary O'Neil is coming under mounting pressure having not yet achieved a Premier League win as Wolves head coach this season.
"Gary O’Neil is facing a potentially pivotal encounter with Southampton this weekend and will come under severe pressure if Wolverhampton Wanderers’ alarming run continues."
The piece goes on to say that "frustration is growing with the club lying at the bottom of the table and without a Premier League win since April 24" and that if the Englishman does not achieve a win over Southampton tomorrow, the former Bournemouth man could be relieved of his duties.

O'Neils' future on a knife-edge
After signing a new four-year contract in August, O’Neil is now floundering as Wolves boss in his second season. Should they put in a poor display against the Saints and lose, the hierarchy will have time to reflect during the international break.
Last season, the 41-year-old turned the clubs' fortunes around after Julen Lopetegui left and eventually joined West Ham United. The club finished 14th in the table but this season, things have proved tricky for Wolves as they sit bottom in the league, having drawn three and lost seven of their opening ten games.
