Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid as his contract runs down - but he's not the only Premier League player they are after.

According to reports, the La Liga giants are looking to make a move in January for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

The Brazilian, who netted the opening goal in Forest-s 3-1 loss to Newcastle last weekend, is being considered by Real as they look to bolster their backline.

They are looking for a replacement for Eder Militao, one of their key players, who is sidelined after sustaining a serious knee injury.

Murillo is enjoying another fine season in Nuno Espirito Santo's side, with the Reds comfortably currently sitting fifth in the Premier League table after a superb start to the season.

But his displays have caught the attention of Real Madrid according to a new report from the Daily Mail. Their exclusive story read that there will be some complication to any deal, however, as Forest are going to seek full value.

"Madrid’s mooted £40m valuation of Murillo does not come close to how highly Forest rate him. Any club showing a serious interest in the 22-year-old would likely to have double that offer to have any chance of success."

The 22-year-old would go a long way in helping Real Madrid, who have endured a poor start to the season. The club are currently six points behind Barcelona, and their problems are not helped by the absence of Militao, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of their long-term choice for the right-back spot as the England international enters the final 12 months of his contract.

But the Spanish outfit are not likely to make a move for Alexander-Arnold in January, per reports in Spain, as he wants to leave his boyhood club in a respectful way.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher recently admitted that believes that Alexander-Arnold will leave. He said to BBC Sport: “I'm pretty confident that the two older lads [Virgil Van Dijk and Mohammed Salah] will sign. They're at a stage where it's difficult to move on to a better club than Liverpool.

“When I played, the two only clubs where players would want to move on to were the Spanish giants but I don't really see that now for Virgil and Mo - who will be desperate to break as many records as he can.

“Trent is in a different situation, so that's the one most people will be worried about with the interest from Real Madrid and the fact that Dani Carvajal has done his ACL."
