Man Utd rival Chelsea for Gyokeres alternative
Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly set to go head-to-head in the race to sign FC Porto forward Samu Omorodion next summer.
The 20-year-old was expected to join Chelsea in August, but his proposed move from Atletico Madrid fell through at the last minute and he eventually ended up at Porto instead.
However, Omorodion has enjoyed a fantastic first few months in Portugal and Chelsea remain interested in finalising a deal for the Spain U21 international as they continue their search for additional attacking options.

The Blues will face significant competition for Omorodion’s signature, however, with Man Utd also keen on bringing him to the Premier League, according to Fichajes.
The Red Devils reportedly view Omorodion as a player capable of “revitalising” their attack, but Porto will only let the Spaniard depart if his €100 million release clause is triggered.
Omorodion has scored 11 goals in 11 appearances for Porto since his arrival from Atletico, including a brace against Man Utd in a 3-3 Europa League draw in early October.

Samu Omorodion to Man Utd?
Man Utd are eager to sign a new centre-forward in 2025 amid Joshua Zirkzee’s poor start to life at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands international has only registered one goal in 115 appearances for the Red Devils, and he has started the last four Premier League games on the substitutes bench.
As a result, Man Utd are set to pursue another number nine next summer, with Omorodion joining Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres on their transfer wish-list.
Gyokeres, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford following the appointment of Ruben Amorim, although the Sweden international has admitted that he isn’t currently considering a Man Utd switch.
Meanwhile, Omorodion’s current contract at Porto isn’t due to expire until 2029, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €17.1m.
