Osimhen BOMBSHELL: Chelsea face shock competition in transfer race
Newcastle United are reportedly set to be offered the chance to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen in 2025.
The Nigeria international was heavily linked with Al-Hilal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain during the most recent summer transfer window, but the 25-year-old eventually joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.
Chelsea were “moments away” from finalising a deal for Osimhen, according to John Obi Mikel, and the Blues are expected to push to sign him when he returns to Napoli next year.

However, Enzo Mareca’s side are expected to face significant competition in the race to land the Nigerian forward, with Galatasaray eager to purchase him on a permanent deal following his excellent start to life in Turkey.
Osimhen has eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances for Galatasaray, including a brace against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League last week.
However, in addition to Chelsea and Galatasaray, Newcastle are also set to join the fight for Osimhen’s signature, according to Chronicle Live.
Alexander Isak has been heavily linked with a St James’ Park exit and Eddie Howe’s side have reportedly lined up Osimhen and Lille’s Jonathan David as possible replacements for the Sweden international.

What has Victor Osimhen said?
Osimhen has been linked with a mid-season exit due a reported break clause in his Galatasaray loan deal, but the Nigeria star has confirmed that he will remain in Turkey until next summer.
“I’m here as a Galatasaray player, I’m happy here,” he said following the Turkish giants’ win over Tottenham.
“Since I came, the Galatasaray fans, the club, I saw how big a family this club is. The way they have treated me and my family in a wonderful manner.
"It’s important to be able to give them my all on the pitch. I’ve seen a lot of the speculation linking me out of the club in January, I can state through me now I’m going to be here until the end of the season.”
