Lookman makes transfer decision
Ademola Lookman has his mind made up regarding his next destination, with the Atalanta striker being chased by the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
All three clubs are seeking to add the centre-forward to their ranks during 2025, with Lookman having enjoyed an outstanding year with the Serie A club, notably bagging a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Building from this success, he has 11 goals and five assists in 19 appearances for Atalanta this season as they have shot to the top of Serie A off the back of a 10-game winning run. On Monday, he was named African Footballer of the Year.
But La Dea now face the possibility of losing their 27-year-old ace amid interest from the Premier League.
Anfield Watch has revealed that Lookman, who can play anywhere across the forward line, has prioritised a move to Liverpool ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal.
“Lookman's representatives openly told Liverpool in the summer that they would like a move to Anfield. This is largely down to the player wanting a return to the north west of England, where he previously played for Everton,” it reports.
“Manchester City were also made aware of his desire to join them.
“Atalanta ultimately priced anyone out of a move for Lookman but the player still harbours desires to move back. He's even holding onto a house in the area, just in case a January move can happen.”
Lookman to Liverpool: A genuine possibility?
Lookman remains an active target for Liverpool given that there has been long-term uncertainty over where the future of Luis Diaz lies.
The Colombia winger has made it no secret that his dream is to move to Barcelona one day.
Should Diaz move on, Lookman, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €20.1 million, could in turn complete a switch to Liverpool.
His versatility and relatively cheap price, however, means that the Nigeria international will continue to be a target for many clubs around the Premier League.
