Arsenal blow Liverpool out of the water with Marmoush move
Arsenal have barged Liverpool aside in the race to sign Omar Marmoush, according to a report.
The Egyptian has been the Bundesliga's standout performer so far this season. Marmoush was irresistible prior to the winter break and the biggest reason behind Eintracht Frankfurt finishing the first half of the campaign in an impressive and unexpected third place.
In 24 appearances across all competitions, Marmoush has netted 18 goals while also providing his teammates with 12 assists. At one point, he converted direct free kicks in three consecutive games, illustrating that everything he touched turned to gold in the opening stages of the season.

Unsurprisingly, the 25-year-old has become the German top flight's hottest commodity and speculation surrounding his future has abounded in recent months.
Liverpool have been described as his most persistent suitors. German media has claimed that the Reds have been in concrete talks with Marmoush and Frankfurt for weeks, though a January move has always been out of the question for the player and, naturally, his club.
Arsenal surge into pole position
In fact, Frankfurt have even been attempting to get Marmoush to extend his contract, which still runs until 2027. However, according to CaughtOffside, the Egypt international has not responded positively to this.
Marmoush dreams of moving to the Premier League and the outlet reports that it is actually Arsenal who have now surged into pole position for his signature, having made an approach recently.

The Gunners have a long-standing interest in Marmoush. In late 2022 and early 2023, he was being billed as a potential alternative to Mykhailo Mudryk at a time when the north London club were still locked in that notorious transfer saga with Chelsea.
Additionally, it is claimed that the likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle are also interested in the striker, though it appears that Arsenal are his most concrete option as things stand.
