Chelsea transfer talks for 21-year-old 'moving quickly'
Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei appears set for a January move to Serie A, according to Italian media.
The 21-year-old is still struggling for minutes at Stamford Bridge. Signed in 2022 as a highly-rated prospect, Casadei has so far failed to establish himself as a regular fixture at Chelsea.
Despite very promising loan stints at Reading and Leicester City, the Italian youth international is increasingly becoming a forgotten figure in west London and he has yet to play a single minute of Premier League football under his ex-Foxes boss Enzo Maresca.

Casadei has only featured in the Conference League and Carabao Cup for the Blues this term but these limited minutes are evidently not enough to ensure a smooth development of the youngster.
In the summer, Maresca convinced him to remain at Chelsea but it is becoming increasingly clear that this was the wrong decision.
Monza talks 'moving quickly'
Given his situation, Italian clubs have naturally been keeping in touch with Casadei ahead of the January transfer window. There have been links in one way shape or another to several Serie A sides in recent weeks.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Italia report that talks over a potential January loan are already ongoing. The former claims that Monza are locked in negotiations over a temporary move for Casadei and that things are 'moving quickly.'

The latter simply states that the relegation battlers are 'frontrunners' for his signature amid an injury crisis which has left them short on options. Monza have only won once this season and currently sit 19th in the Serie A table.
Given their lack of players and position in the standings, Monza want to act swiftly and aim to have his signing wrapped up by January 2 at the latest. The progress currently being made is encouraging.
