Goals from Dean Huijsen, Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo condemned Man Utd to their fourth defeat in nine matches since Amorim’s arrival in November, with the club now 13th in the Premier League table.

The loss to Andoni Iraola’s team means the Red Devils will be in the bottom half of the standings at Christmas for the first time in Premier League history, and Amorim has admitted that he is struggling at Old Trafford.

“In this moment, everything is so hard,” he told reporters (via BBC Sport) following the loss to Bournemouth.

“At a club like Manchester United, to lose 3-0 at home, it's really tough for everybody. Of course the fans are really disappointed and tired. You can feel it in the stadium in the first play.

“At the first goal-kick with Andre Onana, he's thinking what to do and pushing the other guys and everybody is so anxious. I understand that, but we have to face it.”

When asked about his side’s issues with defending set pieces, Amorim admitted: “We are a team in good moments and bad moments. We have a way of doing things.

“We are working on that and we are going to improve on that. But we didn't lose because of set pieces. We lost because we create more chances and didn't score.”

Following their second consecutive 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford, Amorim’s side travel to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Boxing Day, before hosting Newcastle United on 30 December.

Their first game of 2025 is a tricky away trip to Liverpool, while Man Utd will then play Arsenal in the FA Cup.
