Man Utd set another UNWANTED Premier League record
Manchester United have set an unwanted new Premier League record thanks to their 2-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day.
Goals from Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-Chan, following a Bruno Fernandes red card, condemned the Red Devils to yet another loss under Ruben Amorim, with Vitor Pereira earning his second win in as many games after his appointment as Wolves boss.
The 56-year-old replaced Gary O’Neil on 19 December and the old gold have now leapfrogged Leicester City to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.

However, the result has left Man Utd down in 14th place in the English top flight table, 20 points behind league leaders Liverpool and 11 points off the top four.
Furthermore, Man Utd’s loss versus Wolves means they have become the first team in Premier League history to lose five matches across all competitions in consecutive Decembers, as per Opta.
In 2023, Man Utd succumbed to defeats against Newcastle United, Bournemouth, Bayern Munich, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.

This year, Amorim’s side have suffered losses to Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth and Wolves.
Man Utd's new December record follows another unwanted record they set earlier this year, when they picked up just 12 points from their opening 10 Premier League matches - their worst tally in history.
What has Ruben Amorim said?
Following the defeat to Wolves, Amorim told reporters: “In this moment we just have to survive and to win some time to work on the team.
“We already knew it. I started this job, with the team, the new idea, without any time to train, with a lot of tough games. It is a long journey.
“We have to continue to fight these bad moments. We need time to work. We also have to win games to sell the idea to the players. If not, it is really hard.”
Man Utd have four wins, one draw and five losses in 10 games since Amorim’s arrival as Erik ten Hag’s permanent replacement in November. The Red Devils host Newcastle on 30 December in their next fixture.
