Alphonso Davies appears set to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent in the summer, with the prospect of a switch to Manchester United or Real Madrid rising each day as 1 January approaches.

Davies will be able to open talks with foreign clubs six months before the end of his contract on 30 June, and the latest indications from Germany are that the 24-year-old is destined to depart FCB.

There has been a major falling out between Davies’ agent, Nick Househ, and the Bundesliga leaders, Bild reports – and that can only spell good news for Man Utd.

Christian Falk took to X to report: “The Agent of Alphonso Davies is angry about the way the negotiations are being conducted by FC Bayern.”

He explained that Househ has cancelled a trip to Munich, with talks held instead via video conference. The agent, meanwhile, was surprised when Bayern sporting director Max Eberl did not participate in these.

As such, Davies now wants to listen to offers from Manchester United and Real Madrid – and there are already talks planned for January.

Confusion over Davies situation

These reports are entirely countered by those from Sky Sport Deutschland, which suggest that Bayern are actually making positive progress towards a new deal for Alphonso Davies.

“Bayern have made significant progress in the Davies poker game. The talks are well advanced, some financial details have already been clarified, others still need to be finalised,” it reports.

“Davies has made significant concessions to the Munich team on the salary issue. Since Davies' form curve is clearly on the up this season, Max Eberl, Christoph Freund & Co. have also followed suit. It is all about a new long-term contract.”

Sky also reports interest from the Saudi Pro League, as well as Man Utd and Real Madrid, while it stresses that there is no final agreement with Bayern, Davies looks altogether likelier to remain in Germany based on its information.
