The Portuguese’s decision to leave Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford out of the squad at the Etihad Stadium underscored his determination to make big changes at Old Trafford, yet it is not just the attack that is set to be overhauled.

Amorim has already decided that he wants to make a change in goal, with Andre Onana set to be dumped for Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, according to El Nacional.

The 25-year-old Poland international has impressed with the Ligue 1 club this season, with the Red Devils ready to pay €20 million for a player who was once on the books of Chelsea. Bulka would, the Catalan source claims, become the undisputed starter at Man Utd if he were to sign.

It is said that Man Utd are eager to do this as urgently as the January transfer window, with Amorim targeting a top-class shot-stopper. Bulka's mix of youth and experience is said to be an attractive blend for the Red Devils.

A relationship under question

With the relationship between Man Utd and Nice under scrutiny from UEFA because both are owned by Ineos and competing in the Europa League, it would be a somewhat surprising move if the Premier League side were to pull off such a deal.

Inevitably, it would raise questions over a conflict of interest, with no deals done between the clubs so far because of this very issue.

There have been reports that Ineos are trying to sell their stake in Nice, who are set to exit the Europa League after a miserable European campaign despite Bulka’s efforts.

Nevertheless, this is a deal that looks likelier for the summer than January if it is pulled off at all.
