The Algeria international left-back is one of the names linked with a move to Manchester United during the January transfer window, but if Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim was watching proceedings unfold at Molineux, he would have unlikely been impressed with the 23-year-old.

Ait Nouri is seen as an ideal player for Amorim’s 3-4-3 system at Old Trafford thanks to the attacking qualities that he brings to Wolverhampton, yet he was slaughtered by fans of the Premier League strugglers following the defeat to Ipswich.

Following the match, the wing-back was clearly enraged as he needed to be held back by team-mate Craig Dawson while he was subject to abuse from the Wolves fans for his attitude during the game.

Ait Nouri was perceived to be lacking the determination to defend and was part culpable as Ipswich grabbed a late winner, which leaves Gary O’Neil facing the sack with his side cut adrift in the relegation zone.

“Shocking scenes at FT for the second game in a row as Ait Nouri has to be held by multiple teammates after today’s game finishes 1-2,” one fan tweeted.

Another said: “Ait Nouri showing more passion after the final whistle than in the previous 90 minutes - the ill discipline in that club is a disgrace.”

A third added: “Ait Nouri scrapping the Ipswich players after the game…as if he wasn’t the one who purposely sacked his manager. What a shambles!”

Liverpool fans clamour for Ait Nouri

Ait Nouri, meanwhile, is a player that has been suggested as a potential transfer target for Liverpool, who saw left-back Andy Robertson sent-off as they were held to a 2-2 home draw against Fulham.

“Ait Nouri seems good and with the situation Wolves is in they could probably consider selling at the end of the season,” one suggested.

Another added: “Antonee Robinson, Kerkez or Ait Nouri I'd happily take.”

Ait Nouri could soon be on the market following this outburst, with transfer rumours surrounding the Wolves ace set to build as January approaches.
