Ruben Amorim could go on a striker selling spree in 2025 as he is unconvinced by the majority of his attackers.

That is according to El Nacional, who report that Amorim is not sold on any of the number 9s he has at his disposal, and also has doubts about other attackers in his squad.

The report states that Amorim could sanction the sale of both his natural strikers in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Hojlund arrived in the summer of 2023 from Atalanta for €85 million but has scored just 12 Premier League goals in 41 games.

Zirkzee, meanwhile, joined United this past summer for €42m from Bologna but has been a huge disappointment with just three Premier League goals.

Amorim would be happy to sell both strikers and bring in a top-class number nine like Victor Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and available from January for his €75m release clause.

Rashford to leave Man Utd?

Amorim is also reported to be unhappy with other attackers in his squad. El Nacional report that he is ready to sell Marcus Rashford, also, following the player’s public outburst this week.

Rashford said he was “ready for a new challenge” in 2025 and it now seems untenable for him to stay at United. He has also disappointed on the pitch for the last 18 months.

Alejandro Garnacho has disappointed Amorim with his attitude and behaviour and is unsettled, while Antony has been an unmitigated disaster since arriving from Ajax for €100m in 2022.

The only forward who seems safe right now is Amad Diallo, who has had a great start to life under Amorim at United.

Amorim was appointed as Man Utd’s new manager at the start of November following the sacking of Erik Ten Hag.

His team are next in action on Sunday when they play Bournemouth at home in the Premier League.

In their last Premier League game they won 2-1 at city rivals Man City, but they lost 4-3 in the League Cup on Wednesday.
