Arsenal 'confident' of beating Man Utd to Odegaard 2.0
Arsenal are feeling bullish about their chances of beating Manchester United to the signing of Sverre Nypan, according to a report.
The Norwegian youngster has earned a reputation as being something of a reincarnation of Martin Odegaard in recent seasons. Still just 18, Nypan has been a first-teamer for Rosenborg since 2022.
The precocious midfielder has unsurprisingly been attracting the attention of elite clubs from all around Europe and speculation surrounding his future has been rife for over a year.

Man Utd are the club who have been most actively pursuing Nypan, with the club scouting him for years. The player himself would jump at the opportunity to join as he is a boyhood Red Devils supporter.
Despite this, Man Utd have yet to make a formal offer for the teenager and this has recently emboldened other clubs to firm up their interest.
Arsenal to hijack Nypan?
On Thursday, it was revealed that the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea had entered the race for Nypan due to Man Utd's inaction and TBR Football now claims that the Gunners in particular feel confident about their chances of landing the Norwegian.
It is asserted that Arsenal are 'best placed to sign him as things stand' due to their interest being the 'most advanced.' Rosenborg are said to be keen to sell now during the off-season rather than in the summer when the Norwegian campaign is in full swing.

In addition to Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Benfica and several other Premier League outfits are mentioned as Nypan's suitors. It is claimed that Rosenborg value him at around €12 million, which is a significant reduction from previously touted fees such as the €17.8m sum mooted on Thursday.
Nypan has made 60 senior appearances for Rosenborg at just 18, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists from central midfield.
