It has been a quiet January transfer window so far at Arsenal, but this could soon change.

Disappointing results and untimely injuries have soured the mood at the Emirates in recent days. Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup against Man Utd on Sunday in a game that also saw them lose Gabriel Jesus.

The worst fears are that the Brazilian will be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, which means that calls for reinforcements are growing ever louder.

Exclusive: Dusan Vlahovic bid rejected

One such reinforcement could be Dusan Vlahovic. Mikel Arteta is a long-standing admirer of the Juventus striker and FootballTransfers previously reported that Arsenal could pounce on his availability.

Juventus are looking to get him off the books as his performances don't warrant the inflated value of his contract and would sanction a sale this month.

Now, we can reveal that Arsenal's first bid for the Serbian striker has been rejected by the Bianconeri. The Gunners are keen to take Vlahovic on an initial loan, but Juventus are holding out for a permanent sale.

Oleksandr Zinchenko battle

A veritable transfer battle has erupted in Turkey over Arsenal full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko. At least that is according to Turkish media. Last week, it was claimed that Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce were plotting a swoop for the out-of-favour Ukraine international.

Now, A Sport asserts that hated rivals Galatasaray are also keen on Zinchenko and the outlet goes so far as to suggest that the 'Arsenal star is coming' to Istanbul.

Ronald Araujo interest

In recent days, Spanish media has linked Arsenal with a move for Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo, who is the subject of intense interest from Juventus.

Both Mundo Deportivo and MARCA claim that the Gunners are interested in the Uruguay international, who is being valued by Barcelona at around €70 million.

At that price, a move to the Emirates appears unlikely, however, while Juventus have reportedly tested the waters with a bid in the region of €40m.

Gabriel Jesus replacement

Following Gabriel Jesus' injury against Man Utd, Mikel Arteta was once again quizzed about potentially signing a striker this month. Asked whether Arsenal needed another centre-forward, he said: "No, but I mean, we miss from various ways, from different plays.

"And I understand that guys, but I cannot love our players more. And I focus very much on the ones that we have to perform at the highest level. That's it. The rest is not in our hands, in my hands.”
