Aston Villa 'going all out' to HIJACK new target

Aston Villa are 'going all out' for Levante star Andres Garcia, according to Spanish media.

The Villans are in the midst of a busy transfer window. Donyell Malen has been signed from Borussia Dortmund for a deal in excess of €25 million, while Jaden Philogene has left the club permanently for a second time in 18 months, joining Ipswich Town.

After bringing in Malen, recruitment chief Monchi and coach Unai Emery have not rested on their laurels and have continued talks with potential new signings, chief among them Seville star Loic Bade.

Monchi, who has spent most of his footballing career in Spain, is intimately familiar with the domestic market and has now identified a new target for Emery and company.

According to various Spanish sources, including MARCA, Cope and Relevo, Aston Villa are pushing for the signing of Levante full-back Andres Garcia.

Aston Villa want Garcia

The 21-year-old is a right-back by trade and has made 22 appearances so far this season for Levante in LaLiga2. His offensive output has certainly been impressive for a defender, with Garcia notching three goals and three assists.

According to the above-mentioned outlets, Villa are 'going all out' for the youngster, who has a €12 million release clause. Lisbon giants Sporting CP have reportedly made an offer in the region of €10m and Garcia did not train with Levante on Friday in anticipation of the move.

Villa are trying to hijack his transfer to Portugal by matching his release clause and negotiations are said to be in the final stages, with all parties keen to resolve the situation before the weekend's matches. Garcia would strengthen Villa immediately rather than remain on loan with Levante until the end of the season.

If the Premier League side were to strike an agreement, Sporting would have a deal for a right-back hijacked for the second time this window after Juventus stole Alberto Costa from underneath their noses earlier this week.
