Aston Villa plot spectacular return of Douglas Luiz and PSG raid
Aston Villa are interested in re-signing Douglas Luiz after his disappointing start to live at Juventus, according to a report.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the Bianconeri in a bizarre deal in the summer that helped Aston Villa avoid falling foul of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Juventus paid just €50 million for Luiz, while two squad players also headed to Villa Park. However, while the former Man City midfielder had been one of Villa's best players in recent seasons, he has failed to have an impact in Turin.

Not favoured by coach Thiago Motta and injured towards the end of 2024, Luiz has been forced to consider his options this month and the 26-year-old is said to be keen on a Premier League return.
According to Sky Sports and TBR Football, Aston Villa are among the clubs interested in bringing the Brazilian back, with sporting director Monchi previously admitting that he would love to re-sign Luiz if given the chance.
“After his farewell, we invested and in midfield, we are well placed with [Youri] Tielemans, [Amadou] Onana, [Boubacar] Kamara, [Ross] Barkley... But I would always take Douglas back from any club," the Spaniard said in November.
Villa to raid PSG for Kolo Muani, Skriniar?
Additionally, Aston Villa could be busy in the French market this month. The Transfers Podcast understands that the Birmingham club have been offered the services of PSG outcast Randal Kolo Muani by his agent.
PSG would prefer a permanent exit but acknowledge that this is difficult in January and would accept a loan with an obligation to buy. L'Equipe, meanwhile, reports that Villa are among the Premier League sides interested in signing Milan Skriniar.
