The wantaway winger is in talks with several suitors via his representatives after expressing a desire for a new challenge last month. Man Utd will not block his departure. On the contrary, they will actively facilitate it due to their need to balance the books.

The Red Devils are lining up RB Salzburg winger Nene Dorgeles as a potential replacement, while Rashford's brother and agent Dwaine Maynard is travelling around Europe for face-to-face discussions.

Maynard has already been in Milan and Dortmund for talks with AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, with the former in particular said to be pushing for the signing of Rashford.

However, other clubs are involved too, chief among them Barcelona.

Flick gives Rashford go-ahead

Shortly after Rashford announced his desire to leave, FootballTransfers revealed that this had piqued the interest of Barcelona and that the England international was very keen on the opportunity to play in Spain and for the Catalans in particular.

Barcelona made a formal enquiry last week and have since been studying whether or not a deal is feasible. Early on Tuesday, president Joan Laporta announced that the club had returned to the vaunted '1:1 rule,' finally allowing them to spend €1 for every €1 they make again.

This means that Barcelona's concerns over signing players have been eased and, after successfully managing to register Pau Victor and Dani Olmo, there is a certain confidence that the club can even bring in fresh faces.

According to Sport, Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick has endorsed the club's interest in Rashford, a player he previously had an interest in when he was in charge of Bayern Munich.

Despite the stunning form of Raphinha on the left wing this season, Flick is said to be keen to bring in attacking reinforcements.
