The Argentine wonderkid could secure a blockbuster exit from Old Trafford before the window slams shut on February 3. Man Utd will reluctantly have to sell Garnacho if they wish to bring in reinforcements due to their Profit and Sustainability situation.

The Red Devils are in talks to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, but it is thought that one big-money player will first have to make way, with the loan exit of Antony likely not enough to free up the necessary spending capacity.

Unlike Marcus Rashford, Garnacho has continued to feature under Ruben Amorim, but this may not be enough to prevent his exit, with Man Utd's willingness to sell forcing the youngster to reconsider his future.

Indeed, according to Sky Sports, Garnacho was in no way planning to leave the club this winter, but recent developments have planted serious doubts in his mind that Old Trafford is the right place for him to continue his career.

Garnacho wants Napoli

The same outlet also reports that Napoli are ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign the 20-year-old. The Blues are described as merely 'lying in wait' to see how the situation unfolds.

Napoli, meanwhile, are actively pushing for Man Utd to budge from their €70 million valuation and Garnacho, for his part, is 'giving priority' to the Serie A leaders.

The 2023 Scudetto winners reignited their talks with Man Utd on Monday after spending the previous week pushing for Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi.

However, Garnacho has always been coach Antonio Conte's priority target and Napoli returned to the negotiating table when Adeyemi expressed his reluctance to move mid-season.

Napoli view Man Utd's price tag for Garnacho as excessive and are seemingly unwilling to go above €50m. They hope that once they have fully agreed terms with the Argentine they can convince Man Utd to lower their demands.
