Alejandro Garnacho update

Chelsea are reportedly “confident” they will reach an agreement to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho before Deadline Day.

Enzo Maresca’s side have stepped up their pursuit of the Argentine over the past week and they are preparing a formal offer as they look to finalise a deal for the 20-year-old.

TEAMtalk have reported that Chelsea are well placed to sign Garnacho this month, with the Man Utd star open to a Stamford Bridge move.

Christopher Nkunku truth

Bayern Munich remain interested in signing Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, although the German giants are likely to pursue a deal this summer.

The France international has been heavily linked with a Stamford Bridge departure this month, amid his lack of game time in the Premier League, and Bayern have emerged as the frontrunners to sign him.

However, Christian Falk has revealed that while Bayern are eager to sign the ex-RB Leipzig star, they must offload a number of stars in order to fund a move for Nkunku.

As a result, Chelsea may be forced to retain the Frenchman until at least this summer.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan departs

Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan has officially left the club to join Gillingham on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge from Southampton back in 2023, but he is yet to make his first-team debut and he has departed on a temporary basis in search of regular senior football.

Morgan has scored six goals in 10 PL2 games for Chelsea so far this campaign.

Enzo Maresca confirms midfield transfer stance

Enzo Maresca has admitted that Chelsea don’t intend on recalling Andrey Santos or Lesley Ugochukwu from loan, despite recent midfield injuries.

Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez both missed the 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday through injury, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall handed his first Premier League start for the club as a result.

However, despite the workload placed on Moises Caicedo’s shoulders and the consistent injury problems suffered by Lavia, Maresca has revealed that Chelsea aren’t planning on signing a new midfielder before the January window closes.

Recalling Santos from Strasbourg or Ugochukwu from Southampton has been touted as an option, but Maresca played down such claims during his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Manchester City on Saturday.

When asked if there would be any recalls in January, Maresca told reporters: “No, we have in this moment, enough players to cover that situation with Moi [Caicedo], Enzo [Fernandez] and Kiernan [Dewsbury-Hall]. The intention is not to go for one more midfielder.”

Mamadou Sarr deal unlocked

Chelsea’s deal to sign Strasbourg defender Mamadou Sarr appears to be on the cards following the Ligue 1 club’s loan signing of Andrew Omobamidele from Nottingham Forest.

Sarr is expected to join Chelsea on a permanent deal and the arrival of Omobamidele on loan could pave the way for the Frenchman to secure a Stamford Bridge switch.
