Chelsea Transfer News Today: Garnacho bid MADE, wonderkid deal COLLAPSES, RECORD signing agrees move
All the latest Chelsea transfer news and rumours today (Thursday January 23), including the latest on Alejandro Garnacho and a number of young stars being lined up by the Blues.
Blues make formal Garnacho offer
Chelsea could sign Alejandro Garnacho this month after reportedly making a formal offer to sign the Argentine wonderkid.
Napoli appear to be giving Chelsea a clear run at Garnacho, with their €50 million offer turned down by United and the Italian side now in talks over Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi.
United are thought to be holding out for around €70m for Garnacho but Chelsea are hoping for a deal closer to €60m.
The ball now appears to be in United’s court as Chelsea await a response to their offer, with both teams having been in contact over the last few days.
Chelsea agree RECORD deal for teenager
Chelsea are set to add another wonderkid to their books after agreeing a deal for Kazakh teenager Dastan Satpaev in a record transfer.
Satpaev appears to be the next player in line for a transfer after Fabrizio Romano revealed that a package worth €4 million including add-ons had been agreed with Kazakhstan giants Kairat Almaty.
The deal would represent a record fee for a player from Kazakhstan and Satpaev is set to join Chelsea on a five-year contract, with a one-year option, when he turns 18 in 2026.
The 16-year-old striker is understood to have had a trial with Chelsea at the end of last year and the Premier League side appear to have been convinced by his credentials.
Chelsea fail in Yeremay transfer
Chelsea’s BlueCo owners have failed in an attempt to sign Deportivo forward Yeremay Hernandez, with the second tier Spanish side now looking to hold onto their star man.
The 22-year-old has scored eight times in 19 games for his side this season and has a €20m release clause in his contract with Dortmund and Napoli have also considered activating.
BlueCo had also made an approach to sign Hernandez with a view to send him to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg but, after seeing offers of around €15m rejected, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Deportivo are now set to keep the youngster at the club.
Chelsea wonderkid transfers
Chelsea had also been linked with another young talent, Reda Belahyane from Verona but Fabrizio Romano has rubbished these claims.
The midfielder is believed to have been watched by Chelsea but reports that the player was close to a move or that he was in talks are far from the mark.
The Blues are also in talks to sign Mathis Amagou from Nice, with reports claiming they are willing to offer €15m for the midfielder.
Amagou could then be loaned to Strasbourg.
