Chelsea had a difficult time of it on the field as they were defeated 2-1 by Manchester City, yet the Blues are making progress with several transfers.

Nkunku situation deteriorates

Christopher Nkunku will leave Chelsea before the end of the window, with renewed reports linking the attacker to Manchester United.

His personal situation has deteriorated further at Stamford Bridge, according to a report in L’Equipe. Nkunku is unhappy not just because of his lack of playing time, but because he has not been given the status in the squad that he was told he would have when he arrived in 2023.

The French report affirms that Man Utd have been in contact with Chelsea over a transfer, with a €70 million asking price set. A swap deal with Alejandro Garnacho is not out of the question.

Bayern Munich are also interested in him but will not pay €70m presently. Again, a swap deal is possible with Mathys Tel.

Everton talks: three players discussed

Everton have opened talks with Chelsea over Armando Broja, Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Toffees are reportedly keen to send Broja back to Stamford Bridge due to a serious injury he has suffered that could keep him out for several months. Crucially, he is taking up one of the loan slots that his side could use up in January.

One solution could be a new loan for a Blues star, with Carney and Dewsbury-Hall potentially heading to Goodison Park.

Sesko picks his next club

Benjamin Sesko is one of the players that Chelsea have been linked with to bolster their attack, and while RB Leipzig are adamant they do not want to sell in January, the striker has already selected his next destination.

“Last summer when the project was pitched from Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United, Sesko picked Arsenal and then made a secondary choice of whether it was now or to stay at Leipzig,” football transfer news expert Ben Jacobs told Inside Gooners.

Chelsea will, therefore, have to go some if his mind is to be changed.

Cesare Casadei’s agent confirms transfer

Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei is on his way out of the club, with Lazio set to complete a deal for the Italian.

Agent Francesco Faccinetti is not keeping it a secret, either. He posted a picture on his social media accounts of his arrival in Rome.

A deal is expected around the €12m mark, and while this may seem small, Chelsea are set to keep a significant sell-on percentage of any profit Lazio might make when he is sold on.

The transfer could be concluded by the end of the weekend.

Mudryk revelation

Mykhailo Mudryk’s career has taken a few twists and turns since he joined Chelsea, the latest of which threatens to keep him out for up to four years after he tested positive for a Performance Enhancing Drug (PED).

It has been revealed, though, that before hooking up with the Blues, he was all set to join Bayer Leverkusen in 2022. A deal was practically down, with the Ukraine international even appearing in the shirt of the Bundesliga side.

The transfer broken down at the last minute as Shakhtar demanded €30m for the player after initially a deal was poised to be done at €22m.

Chelsea, meanwhile, could pay up to €100m for the player.
