Arne Slot’s side are the runaway leaders in both the Premier League and the Champions League so far this campaign, and they are set to bolster their forward line further with the addition of Tzimas before the end of the January transfer window.

The PAOK striker is currently on loan at second tier German side 1.FC Nurnberg, but his temporary spell at the club is expected to end prematurely.

That is because Liverpool are set to pay €29.7 million (£25m) to sign Tzimas in January, according to Anfield Watch.

The 19-year-old was set to join Nurnberg on a permanent deal for €17.8m (£15m) this summer, due to a clause in his loan agreement, but Liverpool have reportedly held discussions with both PAOK and Nurnberg this week.

During these talks, the Reds were informed that a fee of €29.7m would be enough to secure Tzimas’ services this month - something they are keen to do.

The Greece U21 international has scored eight goals in 14 league appearances for Nurnberg so far this season and he is set to become his country’s most expensive teenager of all time.

Darwin Nunez to leave Liverpool?

Liverpool’s interest in Tzimas comes following reports that Darwin Nunez could leave the club to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal.

The Uruguay international has struggled to find consistent form since his move to Anfield in 2022 and he has now received a huge contract proposal from Saudi Arabia amid speculation he could depart this year.

Al-Hilal have offered Nunez a weekly salary of €475,000, as per Anfield Watch, with Liverpool prepared to sell the 25-year-old if they receive a bid of €100m.
