How Man Utd would line up with Patrick Dorgu
Manchester United are determined to sign Lecce star Patrick Dorgu before the January transfer window closes amid Ruben Amorim’s demand for reinforcements
The Red Devils are locked in negotiations with Lecce as they look to finalise a deal for Dorgu, although they are yet to reach an agreement on a transfer fee, despite submitting several offers.
Man Utd’s latest bid was worth €30 million, but Lecce are eager to retain Dorgu as they look to secure Serie A survival this campaign.

The Italian side’s president, Saverio Sticchi Damiani, recently told reporters: “We are trying to resist, as is logical, because it is in our interest to keep the players who are protagonists of this group. So far, our idea is to not sell anyone in January.”
However, Lecce are reportedly expecting Man Utd to lodge a new offer and they will consider a sale if the Red Devils match their €40m asking price.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through how Dorgu could fit in at Old Trafford if Man Utd are able to reach an agreement to sign the Lecce star.

How Man Utd would line up with Patrick Dorgu
Andre Onana has been heavily criticised for a number of high-profile errors over the past few months, but he is likely to keep his place as Man Utd’s first-choice goalkeeper for the time being.
However, the potential arrival of Dorgu would impact the entirety of Man Utd’s backline. Harry Maguire has established himself as a key player under Amorim, while Lisandro Martinez has been favoured at left centre-back.
Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui could move back into a centre-back berth, with Dorgu and Diogo Dalot providing width from wing-back.
Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo appear to have solidified their position as Man Utd’s best central midfield pairing, with Casemiro forced to watch on from the substitutes bench.
Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford have both been linked with an Old Trafford exit, meaning Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo are in line to keep their spot in Amorim’s preferred front three.
Finally, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are both wanted by Man Utd, although Rasmus Hojlund is likely to be deployed as the Red Devils’ centre-forward until this summer.
