Antony joins Real Betis

€95 million Man Utd flop Antony has officially left the club to join Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the campaign. The LaLiga side will cover at least 84 per cent of his salary, thus freeing up significant funds for the Red Devils.

Antony only played 407 minutes for Man Utd this season. All told, he has made 96 appearances, scoring 12 goals and notching five assists. He will return to Old Trafford in the summer as Betis do not have a purchase option.

Alvaro Carreras under serious consideration

There is still a gap in valuation between Man Utd and Lecce for Patrick Dorgu following the former's improved €30m-€34m bid for the Denmark international.

With talks proving complicated, ESPN reports that Man Utd are seriously considering exercising their buy-back clause for Benfica defender Alvaro Carreras.

At €18m, the Spaniard would be a cheaper option and it would also be a much quicker and more straightforward deal for the Red Devils. However, unlike Dorgu, Carreras is not capable of playing as a winger.

Man Utd step up Tyler Dibling pursuit

CaughtOffside claims that Man Utd are stepping up their pursuit of Southampton wonderkid amid interest from Napoli and Chelsea in Alejandro Garnacho.

RB Leipzig have also recently registered their interest in Dibling, but Southampton insist that he is not for sale in January. It would take at least €60m for the Saints to consider a mid-season sale.

In the summer, with Southampton looking almost guaranteed to get relegated, it could be a more realistic and cheaper transfer. Additionally, it is asserted that Man Utd have been keeping tabs on Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume.

Angel Gomes not keen on return

Lille midfielder Angel Gomes has often been linked with a return to Man Utd after coming through the club's academy. The England international is free to talk to suitors this month as he is out of contract in the summer.

However, according to GIVEMESPORT, Gomes is not keen on returning to Man Utd despite previously stating that the Red Devils would be hard to turn down.

Tottenham are also believed to be interested in signing him.

Christopher Nkunku swap?

Over the past 24 hours, reports of Man Utd reigniting their interest in Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku have proliferated. It is claimed that the two clubs have held early discussions over a potential swap deal for Alejandro Garnacho.

However, Fabrizio Romano insists that these initial talks actually took place before the transfer window opened and that there have not been significant developments recently despite Chelsea's repeated enquiries over the availability of Garnacho.

Sky Sports claims that Man Utd could look to make a loan offer for the Frenchman as a permanent deal is highly unlikely at the quoted €70m price. However, Chelsea will surely be reluctant to only sanction a temporary exit of the wantaway striker.
