CONFIRMED: Man Utd pick Garnacho REPLACEMENT as Napoli return with improved bid
Alejandro Garnacho is set to leave Man Utd within the next couple of days, with the January transfer window heating up for the Old Trafford side.
Argentina international Garnacho is wanted by Serie A high-fliers Napoli, who have already had a bid knocked back for the winger. Seeking a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Antonio Conte’s side are set to revisit the case of the 20-year-old and, according to Corriere dello Sport, are willing to pay up to €60 million for the player.
Man Utd are holding out for €70m, according to the Italian source, but talks between the clubs are scheduled to restart in a matter of hours, with Corriere reporting that the deal is “heating up”.
The relationship between the clubs appears to be a positive one, with Napoli already having signed Scott McTominay from the Red Devils to terrific success. The Scotland international was on target again on Saturday as Conte’s side recorded a terrific 3-2 away win against Atalanta to maintain top spot in Serie A.

Man Utd in Patrick Dorgu talks
Man Utd are already in negotiations for Garnacho’s replacement. The Red Devils are looking to Serie A for Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu and have already opened talks with the player.
Reports in Italy indicate that the deal could be concluded this week, while The Athletic’s David Ornstein has backed Corriere’s claims.
“Man Utd are in talks with Lecce over potential deal for left-back Patrick Dorgu. No agreement but dialogue progressing for the Denmark international,” Ornstein tweeted. “Man Utd are lining up various options in multiple positions prior to deciding on their ins/outs.”
CaughtOffside claims that Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri is United’s top option, though with an asking price north of €50m, striking a deal for him seems fanciful in January.
Dorgu would be a particularly interesting signing for United because he could cover the left wing-back position, which is one they are known to be seeking cover in.
The 20-year-old Denmark international has an Estimated Transfer Value of €17m and is a player who has previously caught the eye of Chelsea and, interestingly, Napoli, who Italian sources had indicated were closing in on a deal to sign him last week.
With Garnacho becoming an increasingly likelihood, though, the Serie A club may allow United to secure the signing of the youngster if it means grabbing the eight-capped Argentina international.
