Man Utd make €35m bid for Patrick Dorgu
Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of Patrick Dorgu and are ready to match Lecce's asking price, according to a report.
On Monday, transfer insider David Ornstein revealed that the Red Devils had opened formal talks with Serie A side Lecce over the Denmark international.
Man Utd's interest in Dorgu had been known for some time, but he was always seen as just one possible option out of many. The 20-year-old can fill several positions, including at left-back where Ruben Amorim's dream target remains Nuno Mendes.

However, the Portugal international is proving too expensive and is reportedly now close to signing a new contract at PSG, which has prompted Man Utd to accelerate their pursuit of Dorgu.
Man Utd make Dorgu bid
The youngster, who is a left-back by trade but has featured mostly on the right wing this season, recently signed a new long-term contract with Lecce, but that will not stop him from leaving this year.
Though Dorgu is a boyhood Chelsea fan, he is said to be keen on joining Man Utd, which has encouraged the Red Devils to make formal bids for the Dane.

According to Nicolo Schira, Man Utd are now ready to increase their offer to €35 million, which matches or is at least very close to Lecce's asking price.
Back in the summer, clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham deemed Dorgu too expensive at €35m-€40m, but it appears that Man Utd have no such concerns, with Amorim desperate to bring in fresh faces.
Dorgu would be signed as a direct replacement for Tyrell Malacia who is expected to leave Man Utd this month, but he can also fill in on the wings where Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Marcus Rashford are all facing uncertain futures.
