Scott McTominay has MORE goals than Man Utd’s ENTIRE midfield

Man Utd made a big mistake selling Scott McTominay last summer, a fact underlined by the Napoli star scoring MORE non-penalty goals than United’s entire midfield this season.
McTominay joined Napoli from Man Utd last summer for just €30 million and has been a revelation in Italy.
Napoli are top of the Serie A table under manager Antonio Conte, with McTominay proving to be a key player.

The Scotland star has scored six goals and delivered four assists in 22 Serie A games, forming a brilliant midfield trio with Stanislav Lobotka and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
McTominay has played the most advanced of the trio, proving to be a constant goal threat with his late runs into the box, his clinical finishing and his aerial threat.
Incredibly, Man Utd’s entire midfield only has six goals in the Premier League this season.

Five of them are from Bruno Fernandes - with three of these penalties. And the other goal is from Casemiro.
No other Man Utd midfielder has scored this season.
Thus, McTominay has the same number of league goals as Man Utd’s entire squad of midfielders.
He also has three more non-penalty goals than Man Utd’s whole midfield, seeing as none of McTominay’s strikes came from the spot.
Former Man Utd winger Lee Sharpe agrees that United made a mistake selling McTominay.
What did Lee Sharpe say about McTominay?
“I wouldn’t have sold McTominay,” Sharpe told The Italian Football Podcast.
“I’m not sure if he was good enough for Man Utd as a regular but as a squad player he was certainly better than most of the players there.
“He always put a shift in, he could always come up with a late goal.
“He always wore his heart on his sleeve and his blood was Man Utd so I don’t think they should have sold him.
“And Napoli are reaping the rewards.”
United are enduring a disastrous season without McTominay.
They are currently 15th in the Premier League after 25 games with no hope of qualifying for the top four and very little chance of making it into Europe through the league.
