FootballTransfers revealed on Wednesday that Arsenal have performed a U-turn on their stance over the player from earlier in the month and are ready to launch a bid, but they are certainly not alone in the Premier League when it comes to chasing the former Rennes youngster.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are all following his situation, according to Sky Sport Deutschland. Interest also comes from within the Bundesliga and also Tel’s homeland of France.

Tel is unhappy at his lack of game time under Vincent Kompany at Bayern, with the former having failed to appear for a single minute in any of the last four matches. He was not even on the bench for Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava.

Tel wants out – Bayern confirm

“We spoke in December, and Mathys said he wanted to establish himself. Now he says he wants to leave (…) There’s no bad blood. I can understand him. I’ve rarely had so many clubs call me about a player before,” Bayern sporting director Max Eberl told the German TV station.

Under contract until 2029, reports indicate that Bayern could be open to either a loan move or a permanent deal.

Kompany appears open to retaining the youngster in his squad, despite rarely using him, but the desire on the part of the player is to earn far more regular game time.

Tel is yet to get off the mark under the Belgian but last season he scored 10 goals and created seven more in 40 appearances for Bayern, the majority of which came as a substitute. It is this form that has attracted the attention of the Premier League sides.
