Alexander-Arnold issues Liverpool DEMANDS amid Real Madrid interest

Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly willing to snub Real Madrid if Liverpool are prepared to meet two of his demands.

The 26-year-old is due to become a free agent when his contract at Anfield expires in July and he is widely expected to join England team-mate Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid on a Bosman deal.

Los Blancos even lodged a bold bid to sign Alexander-Arnold in January, although Liverpool swiftly rebuffed this offer, with the Reds determined to retain their academy graduate until at least this summer.

Real Madrid view Alexander-Arnold as their priority transfer target for 2025, amid Dani Carvajal’s injury issues, and Carlo Ancelotti’s side are now able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with the Englishman.

However, the 26-year-old is yet to close the door on an Anfield stay and he will consider extending his spell at the club if he receives a three-year contract offer and the chance to become Liverpool captain in the future.

That is according to talkSPORT, who state that Alexander-Arnold is yet to make a decision on whether to join Real Madrid, despite reports that a move is edging closer.

What has Arne Slot said?

Liverpool boss Arne Slot was once again asked Alexander-Arnold’s future during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s clash against Manchester United on Sunday.

“I speak to every player once in a while and that is for Trent the same. Yes, I spoke to him,” Slot confirmed.

“I can completely understand the question but I think you already know the answer. These conversations I never share. It was a conversation as many others we have, me and Trent, and let's leave it today.

“If that [bid] destabilises them, then we would have had a problem.

“I can tell you he is playing on Sunday,” Slot added when questioned if Liverpool would consider selling the England international in January. “And hopefully he brings the performances of the first half of the season. You saw how much he wants to be here and wants to win here.

“He is fully committed to us and he will play on Sunday.”
