Newcastle United have agreed to sell Alexander Isak if they receive an offer in excess of €100 million this summer, according to a sensational report in Spain.

The Sweden international has been linked with a host of top clubs across Europe in recent months and Eddie Howe’s side have reportedly accepted that a sale will take place if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and a bid of over €100m is submitted.

That is according to Spanish publication Sport, who have confirmed that Isak is being watched by Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, while Barcelona are also interested in completing a deal for the 25-year-old.

However, the Blaugrana’s financial position means that a move for Isak is extremely unlikely unless they are able to negotiate a major sale this summer.

The Newcastle star has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal at St James’ Park and the Magpies have previously been adamant that he isn’t for sale at any price.

But, Isak is determined to play Champions League football next season and Newcastle have now accepted that a sale will take place if they fail in their bid to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition and they receive an offer in excess of €100m, as per Sport.

Isak has scored 19 goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances so far this campaign, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at a career high of €76.7m.

What has been said about Alexander Isak?

Although Arsenal have been credited with the most significant interest in Isak, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes recently urged the Swede to reject a summer move to north London.

“Everyone loves him [Isak] but I don’t see a possibility of him going to Arsenal,”Scholes told the Overlap Fan Debate.

“He needs to go bigger and better. We’re talking about Real Madrid here, Liverpool need a centre forward. I think Arsenal would be an option but I think they would be down the list of options.

“I don’t mean that in a bad way but he’s at Newcastle, a really good team, a brilliant team, but they’re not going to win league titles, that’s the next stage of his career.

“I think it would be a risk to go to Arsenal and do the same thing. Liverpool have got a much better chance, Man City and Real Madrid the same.

“I think his sights should be higher than Arsenal. He is a player Man Utd would be looking at but in the position we’re in now… it’s not going to happen.”

Scholes concluded: “I agree he takes Arsenal to another level, he would be brilliant and he could possibly get you over the line. But I just think there’s bigger and better in him.”
