Mikel Arteta’s side are set for a spending spree during the upcoming summer transfer window and they have earmarked both Kostoulas and Mouzakitis as key targets amid their impressive recent form in Greece.

Kostoulas, 17, and Mouzakitis, 18, have established themselves as key players at Olympiacos so far this season, and their progress is being monitored by a host of clubs across Europe.

In fact, both Arsenal and Aston Villa have initiated contact with Olympiacos as they look to finalise a summer double deal, according to Birmingham World.

Brentford and Manchester United have also sent scouts to watch the pair in action this campaign, although their interest is at a less advanced stage.

Kostoulas has scored five goals in 18 league matches for Olympiacos this season, primarily from an attacking midfield position, while Mouzakitis has caught the eye in a deeper midfield role.

Mouzakitis earned his first Greece cap against Finland in November, and Kostoulas is expected to join him in the senior squad soon.

Arsenal and Aston Villa are both hoping to finalise a deal for the pair this summer, although Unai Emery’s side are currently prioritising a move for Kostoulas.

Arsenal’s summer transfer plans

In addition to their pursuit of the Greek duo, Arsenal are also set to sign at least four new players this summer, with Arteta due to receive a huge transfer budget in a bid to finally win the Premier League title.

The Gunners are hoping to sign La Liga trio Joan Garcia, Martin Zubimendi and Nico Williams, while the club are expected to purchase a new centre forward amid interest in Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak and Ollie Watkins.
