Kai Havertz’s hamstring injury has sent shockwaves through Arsenal and Fabrizio Romano has revealed how the club intends to act on the transfer market as a response to the blow.
Arsenal fear that Havertz’s season could be over due to a hamstring problem picked up on a training camp in Dubai, leaving Mikel Arteta’s side bereft of attacking options.

Gabriel Jesus will not play again this season due to an ACL injury while Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are also on the sidelines because of problems.
With an attack devastated by injuries, the Gunners have no senior options available to play in the centre-forward role. It is a situation that seriously threatens to undermine their Premier League and Champions League chances.
Although the transfer window has closed, Arsenal could still respond by signing one or more free agents to offer them more attacking options.

One name that has been mentioned is former Chelsea striker Diego Costa, who is currently unattached.
Romano has revealed Arsenal’s stance to dipping into this market to sign a player who does not currently have a club.
He tweeted: “No contacts or approaches made by Arsenal with free agents so far following Havertz’s injury.
“Arteta, determined to find solutions internally while staff keeps waiting for Bukayo Saka and Martinelli back.
“The investment on new striker will be made in the summer.”
Why Arsenal won’t sign a free agent
Arsenal’s stance is perhaps not that surprising.
The quality of player available as free agents at this juncture of the season is not as high as would be expected at the Emirates while there are also questions over the match-readiness of these players given they have not been in action for weeks and, in some cases, months.
Arsenal need immediate solutions and will instead turn to the likes of Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri to solve their problems.
