Arsenal lose ANOTHER player to season-ending injury

Arsenal’s injury crisis goes from bad to worse as they have lost another senior player for the season.
The Athletic reports that Takehiro Tomiyasu’s season is over after he underwent knee surgery.
Tomiyasu has missed almost all of the 2024-25 season with a knee injury that he suffered on the club’s pre-season tour.

He made just one appearance in October before being forced to have surgery to correct the problem.
Tomiyasu has confirmed on Instagram that he has undergone surgery, meaning he will not return until next season.
What did Tomiyasu say?
“I've had a surgery on my knee few days ago and l've already started my rehab to do what I love the most again,” Tomiyasu said.
“It has been the toughest period in my career for sure and it carries on a bit more but I won't give up.”

Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna 2021 and has since made 84 appearances.
The Japan defender is just the latest Arsenal player to suffer a long-term injury.
The Gunners have endured a torrid season on the injury front and they are currently decimated in attack.
Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are already out for the season with injuries, with the Brazilian suffering an ACL tear last month.
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli will not return from injury until April.
This means that Arsenal currently only have three fit forwards available for the next month in Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and Raheem Sterling.
Arsenal’s injury crisis has affected their title push considerably this season, with the Gunners seven points behind leaders Liverpool.
It had been hoped that this season would be the year where Arsenal turned successive second place finishes into first position but it now will be very difficult for Mikel Arteta’s team.
