Chelsea’s window is far from over, with Enzo Maresca’s side still in talks to complete at least a couple of transfers before the deadline.

Although the Blues were eager to bolster themselves at centre-back at the beginning of January due to injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, they now find themselves seeking to offload players in that area.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed initial reports from Caught Offside that Chelsea are in talks with Tottenham over Axel Disasi.

The former Monaco defender had previously agreed to move to Aston Villa but the deal has broken down as the Blues could not come to a deal with the Birmingham club when the move looked almost inevitable.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are seeking to take advantage of the situation by swooping in with a late bid for Disasi, who is a France international.

Maresca makes Anselmino U-turn

Chelsea could also see Aaron Anselmino depart before the end of the window. The 19-year-old’s loan with Boca Juniors ended in January, and with the prospect of game time at Stamford Bridge slim, the Argentine could be headed off elsewhere in Europe to gain experience.

Marseille have targeted Anselmino, according to a report from L’Equipe.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side want to sign the centre-back on loan until June.

Borussia Dortmund are also linked with a move for the teenager.

Previously, Maresca had indicated that Anselmino would remain with Chelsea.

“At the moment, the plan is to keep him here to allow him to work with us, and then to take a decision,” he told Chelsea’s official website on 3 January.

“If he’s here it’s because we think he is a good player, and he can help us, but for sure he is very young, and he is coming from Argentina, with a completely different culture, different football, different level, so he needs time to adapt.”

Chelsea, it seems, are happy to let Anselmino continue to develop elsewhere, with Marseille the leading option.
