Chelsea target Karim Adeyemi will leave Borussia Dortmund in search of a 'new chapter' in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The German winger has been the subject of intense transfer interest in recent windows. Last summer, Juventus were trying to engineer a move for Adeyemi but failed to get the deal over the line.
In January, another Italian club tried their luck as Napoli opened talks with the 23-year-old to potentially replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The 2023 Scudetto winners were more successful than their Turin rivals as they managed to reach a full agreement with Dortmund.

However, the move collapsed due to Adeyemi's unwillingness to change clubs mid-season and Napoli, after also considering Alejandro Garnacho and several other names, had to settle on AC Milan forward Noah Okafor.
Amid all of this, Chelsea have been lurking in the background and watching developments from afar. The Blues have a long-standing interest in Adeyemi and it was recently confirmed that he remains on their radar for the summer as a potential alternative to the aforementioned Garnacho.

Is Adeyemi Chelsea-bound?
As for Adeyemi himself, he looks almost guaranteed to be on the move in the next transfer window. According to Fabrizio Romano, he is "prepared for a new chapter in the summer."
Accordingly, he has linked up with a new agency to help him secure a move. The Germany international has joined ROOF, who also represent the likes of Kai Havertz, Ademola Lookman and Mohammed Kudus.

Adeyemi is still under contract at Dortmund until 2027. The Bundesliga giants were prepared to sell him for €40 million in January, although it will be interesting to see their stance in the summer because fellow winger Jamie Gittens also looks set to leave the club. Losing both would be a massive blow.
