Chelsea prepare HUGE offer for Liverpool star

Chelsea are interested in signing Liverpool forward Luis Diaz this summer, according to sensational reports in Colombia.

Diaz has been a key player at Anfield since his arrival from FC Porto, but he only has two-and-half years remaining on his current deal at the club and Cody Gakpo has recently established himself as Arne Slot’s preferred left winger.

The Colombia international has therefore been forced to play as a centre forward in recent weeks, and Chelsea are reportedly eager to submit an enticing offer in a bid to land him this year.

The 28-year-old has previously been linked with the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, but Chelsea have now joined the race to sign him, as per Colombian outlet Antena 2.

Enzo Maresca’s side are actively searching for a new left winger amid Mykhailo Mudryk’s provisional suspension for doping and Diaz has emerged as a key target.

The Blues are reportedly willing to make Diaz one of their highest earners and they are set to submit a “competitive” offer this summer as they aim to bolster their squad and challenge for the Premier League title during the 2025-26 campaign.

Luis Diaz to join Chelsea?

Diaz has 12 goals and three assists in 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, but he certainly doesn’t fit into Chelsea’s recent recruitment strategy.

Tosin Adarabioyo is the only player aged 26 or older to join the Blues since the 2022 summer transfer window and they are widely expected to continue this youth revolution.

As a result, Diaz is highly unlikely to secure a Stamford Bridge switch later this year, with Chelsea expected to target a younger player with potential sell-on value.

Athletic Club star Nico Williams has previously been linked with the west London giants, while Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz is also reportedly being monitored ahead of a possible summer bid.
