Viktor Gyokeres can thrive in the Premier League if he decides to make a summer move to England from Sporting CP, the coach of Cristiano Ronaldo has said.
Jorge Jesus is a highly experienced figure in world football, particularly when it comes to the Portuguese game, and he claims that Gyokeres has what it takes to follow Ronaldo in becoming a star among England’s elite.

With Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle among the clubs tracking the 26-year-old, there is a strong possibility that his theory will be tested.
“At the beginning, I saw that he had a lot of quality, but after a few games and seeing that he scored goals and more goals, along with his mentality and competitiveness, that surprised me a lot,” Jesus said. “He has been doing very well in the last two years and I think he has the ability to play for a big club, even though for me he already is. He is ready to play anywhere
“The physical aspect of his game is very strong.”

Ironically, Gyokeres' physical condition has been questioned in Portugal in recent weeks following a three-game scoring drought from the Swede.
While Sporting have denied that he is injured, there are rumours that he is carrying a problem, which prevented him from training on the eve of Sporting’s 3-0 Champions League loss against Borussia Dortmund.
It has been notable that since this issue arose and his physical condition impacted, he has not been as strong on the field.
Who will sign Gyokeres?
Gyokeres is expected to leave Sporting in the summer, but his destination is unclear.
Arsenal prefer Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak over him but face stiff competition for the former while Newcastle are unlikely to part with their Sweden international star.
Chelsea could also be a strong candidate to sign him but are also closely tracking RB Leipzig hitman Sesko.
Newcastle are likely to face spending constraints unless they make the sale of a star player like Isak or Bruno Guimaraes, which is something they are strongly opposed to.
Man Utd boast Gyokeres’ favoured coach in the form of Ruben Amorim, but the probable lack of Champions League football at Old Trafford next season is likely to block the Red Devils from being a serious option.
In short, the race is open.
