Erik ten Hag should be approached to succeed Brian Priske as the new coach of Feyenoord, according to the club's board of commissioners.

The supervisory board of Feyenoord 'suggests' at least to 'approach' the former manager of Ajax and Manchester United. However, Ten Hag does not seem to be the main candidate to succeed Priske.

ESPN does not call the ex-Man Utd boss 'a less realistic suggestion' for nothing. But: "The first sounds are that within the supervisory board, it is at least suggested to approach the former Man Utd manager.

This is because if you "don't shoot, you always miss." Feyenoord beat reporter Mikos Gouka also spoke out this week about a possible collaboration between the Rotterdammers and Ten Hag.

The journalist from Algemeen Dagblad does not think that the Dutchman wants to return to the Eredivisie, but he added that he also "did not think that [Arne] Slot would come to Feyenoord at the time [in 2021]."

Feyenoord fans want Mark van Bommel

There have been suggestions in the Dutch media that Feyenoord fans are open to the appointment of their bitter rivals' former manager, but the shareholding group Friends of Feyenoord have a different option in mind.

According to Gouka, Mark van Bommel is being put forward by the influential supporters' group as Priske's successor. ESPN writes the same.

"Shareholders Friends of Feyenoord are calling for a different name: Van Bommel. The former Royal Antwerp coach has been without a club since the summer and if the former midfielder has made one thing clear on the talk shows he has recently appeared on, it is that he can't wait to get back in the game."

Van Bommel was present on Ziggo Sport this week to analyse the duel between Juventus and PSV in the playoff round of the Champions League.

He was of course asked about the position of head coach at De Kuip and came up with a clear answer: "If they call, then you start thinking about it. You don't have to do so before that. It's all speculation."

It remains to be seen whether everyone at Feyenoord sees Van Bommel as the right candidate to succeed Priske. Journalist Valentijn Driessen reported on Monday that the former coach of PSV, VfL Wolfsburg and Royal Antwerp is not the preference of the commissioners.

According to ESPN, meanwhile, it seems 'clear' that the supervisory board members, chairman Toon van Bodegom and Sjaak Troost, are open to a return of Marino Pusic.

Pusic, who was brought to Rotterdam-Zuid as an assistant by Arne Slot in 2021, received a lot of praise for his work as Slot's right-hand man before he left for Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023.

However, the question is whether his current club is prepared to let him go, while not everyone within the Feyenoord supervisory board is convinced that a return of Pusic wold be the correct move.
