Liverpool are expected to back Arne Slot in the transfer market this summer and Mohamed Salah’s potential exit could trigger a "historic" few months of spending.

The Egypt international is set to become a free agent in July and he has been tipped to secure a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia when his current deal at Anfield expires.

Liverpool are hoping to reach contract extension agreements for Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, although it appears unlikely they will all remain at the club next season.

Salah has dropped several hints that an exit is on the cards and he is reportedly set to snub the opportunity to extend his Liverpool deal in favour of pursuing a new adventure.

However, TEAMtalk have claimed that his exit could trigger potentially the biggest summer transfer window in Liverpool’s history.

The Reds are on course to win the Premier League title this campaign, while they are one of the favourites for Champions League glory, but Slot is expected to receive a huge transfer budget ahead of the upcoming window.

Liverpool set for huge summer transfer window

TEAMtalk report that Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen has emerged as a priority target for Liverpool, amid his immense form under Andoni Iraola, with Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak being monitored by the club too.

In addition to Huijsen and Isak, the Reds are also eager to sign a left-back, a right-back, a defensive midfielder and a winger as they look to bolster the options available to Slot.

Federico Chiesa (€12m) and Giorgi Mamardashvili (€30m) were the only first-team signings made by Liverpool last summer, while their current transfer window record spend stands at €182.2m (2018).

However, they are reportedly expected to exceed that figure during the 2025 summer transfer window, with several big-money signings set to arrive at Anfield later this year.
