United will be open to offers for virtually every member of their squad this summer as they look to rebuild under Ruben Amorim and they may have a chance to get rid of a high earner in Mason Mount.

According to Interlive’, Inter are in the market for a successor to former United midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan amid the Italian side’s plans for their own rebuild.

Having largely focused on younger players, Inter are now observing market opportunities for more established stars, which has led them to consider a deal for Mount, whom the report describes as one of England's top talents.

The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries ever since his €64 million transfer from Chelsea in 2023, making just nine Premier League starts in 19 months.

As a result, he is deemed to ‘not be a part’ of Amorim’s project and is valued at €30m, with Inter ready to pursue a loan deal with an option to buy, although they would also need United to cover a ‘significant’ amount of his wages.

United open to Mount departure after shocking injury struggles

Mount has only played 249 minutes of Premier League football this season and the England international hasn’t featured for United since December due to injury, with his current return date unknown.

Despite arriving as a marquee signing for United, Mount has hardly featured since his signing and the club are understood to be willing to facilitate his departure despite having three years remaining on his contract.

However, Mount will likely have to prove his form and fitness before being able to secure any exit, particularly if United wish to recoup anywhere close to the amount they paid for him.

Mount’s has missed more games for United since joining than he previously had across his entire career and, while there is hope from both him and the club that a success can still be made of his transfer, both parties would likely be open to a new beginning after a disastrous time so far.
