Amorim confirms Man Utd's season is OVER after Tottenham defeat

Ruben Amorim has declared Manchester United's season a write-off after his side fell to another defeat in the Premier League.
The Red Devils were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham on Sunday in a very open game. Amorim's men could easily have found the back of the net at least once, but their finishing ultimately led them down.
Alejandro Garnacho's first-half miss of a golden opportunity was emblematic of the performance and Amorim was left fuming after the Argentine failed to take his chance.

Spurs held on to an early James Maddison goal, but the truth is that they, too, could have made this a much more comfortable game had it not been for poor finishing.
It was Man Utd's third Premier League defeat in their past four games and saw the Red Devils slip down to 15th in the table, while Spurs moved above them into 12th.
Man Utd still have a 12-point cushion on the relegation zone, but Amorim once again failed to improve his record as the club's worst head coach post-Sir Alex Ferguson.

Amorim declares season a write-off
Despite coming out with the usual 'we will keep fighting' platitudes, Amorim looked and sounded like a defeated man after the game and admitted that "my job is so, so hard here."
In fact, the 40-year-old essentially declared the current season a write-off despite the fact that Man Utd are still active in the FA Cup and Europa League.
"We want to recover the players, I think we can recover some players for the next game," Amorim said amid the club's current injury crisis, which has made his job even more difficult. "We have to be together to finish the season and start over," he tellingly added.
When asked whether he had concerns about potentially getting sacked, Amorim responded: "The place in the table is my worry, I am not worried about me."

Amorim then explained how a highly-anticipated nine-day period without a game quickly turned into a nightmare due to the injuries suffered by Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo, with the latter out for the rest of the season.
"We were asking about a long week for so long," the Portuguese said. "And we worked our principles but day after day you lose players that change your approach to the game. I could not play the same way with Joshua [Zirkzee] as I can with Amad."
"I have a lot of problems, my job is so, so hard here. But I stick with my beliefs."
