Amorim sack cost revealed as star man admits tactics ‘NOT WORKING’

Manchester United might have beaten Ipswich 3-2 in the Premier League on Wednesday, but the nature of the performance once again had critics rounding on Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
United struggled over the line at home against a team fighting relegation, although the fact that they pinched the victory with 10 men following a red card to Patrick Dorgu is seen as a source of positivity.

But on the flip side, Alejandro Garnacho had a fresh spat with Amorim as he marched down the tunnel after being substituted to compensate for the dismissal.
Following the game, Bruno Fernandes made a stark admission over the tactics of his countryman.
“It isn’t always working,” he told TNT Sports in an admission that the squad has doubts over the boss.
“We have to stay true to what we have trained, try to do what we are supposed to do. We may feel at times that it is not working, but for some reason the coach wants us to do this. And if he wants us to do this, it is because the coaching staff watches a lot of games and prepares the matches.”

Amorim could add to Man Utd sack spree
With a Premier League record that reads just five victories in 16 games, there is already speculation that Amorim may not see the end of the season at Old Trafford.
Taking such a decision would be expensive for Man Utd, though. The Mirror has revealed that it would cost the club in the region of €24 million to sack the head coach, who only arrived in November from Sporting CP.
Man Utd counting the cost of sacked managers
Manager(s) | Cost |
David Moyes | £5m |
Louis van Gaal | £8.4m |
Jose Mourinho | £19.6m |
Ole Gunnar Solskaer/Ralf Rangnic | £24.7m |
Erik ten Hag | £14.5m |
TOTAL | £72.2m |
United have already clocked up an astronomical bill of €72.2m purely in managerial sackings since Sir Alex Ferguson retired little over a decade ago, and it would be another humiliation for owners INEOS if Amorim was to add to that just weeks after arriving at the club.
