Amorim told to QUIT Man Utd after transfer shambles

Manchester United fans have not hidden their anger at the failed transfer market of the club and have told Ruben Amorim that they would not blame him if he walked away from the Old Trafford side.

Amorim arrived at Old Trafford in November and has struggled to turn the ailing club around.

Man Utd lie 13th in the Premier League after a 2-0 loss at home to Crystal Palace and while the new head coach has come under fire for failing to improve the fortunes of the team, frustration is now being directed at the board for their failure to conduct an effective transfer market.

Despite obvious weaknesses in the squad, which does not appear well suited to Amorim’s 3-4-3 style, United have only managed to land Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu.

Coming into the transfer window, attackers were high on the shopping list, with at least one centre-forward and one attacking midfielder expected to arrive at Old Trafford.

No one has joined and with the club missing out on Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, who is set to move to Tottenham, it appears that they will not get anyone in prior to the transfer deadline.

“Genuinely wouldn’t blame Amorim for walking away tonight. Club is a shambles!

“He does United a favour and joins mid season, then this is how Glazers and INEOS repay him…,” one furious fan wrote on X.

This is just a flavour of the frustration that supporters are feeling as they believe they have been let down by the board once again.

Man Utd fans react angrily to Dorgu image

United posted an image of Dorgu on their social channels just after Tel’s decision to join Tottenham was broken and received a heated response from supporters.

“Sign a forward,” one account pleaded.

Another added: “Stevie Wonder could’ve read the room better.” It branded the club “shameless” in another tweet.

The popular UtdDistrict account replied sarcastically: “Yes lads fantastic timing.”

Summing up the mood was another who said: “Not good enough. We want more. You are embarrassing us.”

Man Utd are not the only team to have struggled to add to their ranks this January, though. Chelsea and Arsenal have also failed to secure the firepower they were dreaming of at the start of the month.
