Manchester United are ready to submit a €40 million offer for Barcelona star Alejandro Balde, according to sensational reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the best young defenders in world football over the past few years and Ruben Amorim is reportedly eager to bring him to Old Trafford in 2025, despite the January arrival of Patrick Dorgu.
Barcelona may be forced to sell at least one key player this summer, due to their financial issues, and Man Utd are currently preparing a €40m bid for Balde, as per El Nacional.

The Red Devils are willing to “go all out” to land Balde during the upcoming transfer window, although they may be forced to significantly increase their offer in order to tempt Barcelona into a sale.
That is because Balde’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €68m and with his current deal at Camp Nou not due to expire until 2028, Man Utd will likely be required to submit a huge bid in their pursuit of the Spain international.

Man Utd to sign Alejandro Balde?
Man Utd’s reported interest in Balde comes after Amorim admitted his side’s failure to sign several players during the January transfer window could prove problematic throughout the remainder of the season.
“I think everybody here doesn't want to make the same mistakes we did in the past, we have to improve the players we have, win some games, in summer we will see,” Amorim told reporters ahead of Man Utd’s FA Cup fourth round win over Leicester City.
“We are being really careful on transfers because we made some mistakes in the past.
“At the moment it is hard to turn things around in a few games, it is going to be like that, hard, until the end of the season. We are taking that risk because we want a different thing in our team, different profile, that is my area, so my decision on that.

“We will have time to train. I am always complaining. Now we want a certain type of player with a different profile.”
When asked whether Man Utd took a risk by failing to sign more players capable of playing in his preferred 3-4-3 formation, Amorim replied: “That is clear, also exciting. I know when I choose this professional you have the risk of results.
“I already knew when I came here, look at the schedule, look at the team, my decisions to change everything, take hard decisions without signing, is a danger for a coach, but I have a clear idea of what I want to do.
“I take these risks because I think it will pay off in the end. But I know I am not naive, this is a sport of results and it is a difficult situation.”
