Ruben Amorim pushes for signing of free kick magician

Ruben Amorim is a huge fan of Inter Milan star Federico Dimarco and tried to sign the free kick magician during the January transfer window.
Dimarco has hit the headlines this weekend after a sensational free kick goal for Inter against Napoli.
The 27-year-old put Inter into the lead in the big Scudetto clash at the Stadio Diego Maradona with an insane curling free kick that was whipped around the wall and curved into the top corner.
The goal went viral due to the insane amount of curl on the ball in a game that eventually finished 1-1 after Philip Billing’s late equaliser for Napoli.
It is the latest outrageous goal that Dimarco has scored, with the left wing-back scoring from the halfway line last season.

FCInternews reports that Amorim is a massive fan of Dimarco and tried to sign him in January.
United were on the lookout for a new left wing-back and the club put in an offer to Inter for the player.

Dimarco rejects Man Utd
However, Dimarco made it clear from the start that he had no interest in leaving Inter and that he is very happy at the club. It is understood he has told Real Madrid the same.
Amorim feels that Dimarco is the perfect fit for his 3-4-2-1 formation given he is a natural wing-back with world class delivery and chance creation.
In the end, United moved for Lecce youngster Patrick Dorgu who has had a mixed start to his career at Old Trafford.
United remain interested in Dimarco, having also made enquiries for him while Erik ten Hag was at the club.
But any chance of signing Dimarco going forward seems unlikely as this is a player who is very tied to Inter.
Dimarco has made 168 appearances for Inter, scoring 17 goals.
He has been capped 28 times by Italy, scoring three goals and he played at Euro 2024.
